This is a CQB airsoft site located in Sheffield which we have given about 4-5 visits now and we feel it's time to write up our impressions on this one so here goes.

Site brief history

Its which was formally a tool factory called Stanley tools which was founded a 1843 and was a very well known tool maker within the UK which seemingly fell victim to cheaper imports which led to the factory closing down and the company being merged with another business which left the factory being turned into a airsoft site and over time being crowned as the 3rd best airsoft site in the UK by Airsoft International Magazine in 2016. Based on such a reputation we had pretty good hopes for this site but does it hold up as a good airsoft site you will have to read on

What does the site offer?

The stan offers 4 floors as the play area which is around 100,000 square feet and the roof top which acts as the safe zone/shop/food/chrono area. The safe zone offers plenty of very big tables so you will easily be able to have a spot to organise your kit. Additionally there's another door which leads out to the open top of the roof for those who want some fresh air or to smoke a cigarette.

The 4 floors offer different setups in terms of cover and constructions within meaning no floors are identical meaning there's good amounts of stuff to see on each floor. Because this is a cqb site all the floors are semi only so if you are wanting some crazy full auto action you will have to look elsewhere however for us semi in cqb has always been ideal and keeps the gameplay from becoming a crazy clusterfuck. Also they don't allow any grenades which go bang due to the sites location so only grenades which just eject a load of BBs are allowed but to be honest we can say you won't need any grenades with how the site is so best to leave them at home for this one.

How to get to the site?

To access the site you need to park up on the road outside of the site. If you want to get closer to the entrance be prepared to get there early otherwise you will have a longer walk to get to the entrance. Next you will have to walk on the street to reach the site and there will be the stairs which will take you all the way up to the rooftop floor to get to the safezone. Bear in mind this is in the city so you must carry all your equipment in bags from your car to the site unless you want to be buzzed by the local police who will very unlikely take kindly to you walking down a street with airsoft guns so you must use your common sense in regards to this and the marshals will lock the entrance door at a certain time so we'd advise ensuring you have all the kit you need in your bags to avoid annoying people by asking to be let out over and over to the car throughout the day.

How's the site environment/managed?

This site is well staffed by marshals and all seem to be well mannered and professional and the environment seems fairly relaxed. A wide range of players come to this site so how the games will go will largely depend on the types of players which turn up on the day you come on. You will find the typical airsoft regulars and then also the speedsofters which can normally be identified with their usual attire of bright clothing and paintball masks. Our impressions are mostly positive with the games varied from pushing across a single floor or games which include multiple floors with all sorts of different objectives in these types of games to keep it interesting. These games can be moving a cart closer to the enemy spawn and the enemy trying to push the same cart back towards yours, games where you are trying to capture enemy players tokens and bringing them back to your spawn or just straight up Team DeathMatch.

Cost of the day?

If you are bringing your own kit the total price is £35 we do suggest however that you book yourself in advance to avoid any disappointment which is a £15 deposit.

Is the place worth it?

With its varied games and multiple floors it's certainly a good place for some CQB game action so we can say safely this site is certainly worth multiple visits and weather you are a regular airsoft or brand new we believe you will have a good time
